- Moderately increased albuminuria (30-300 mg/day)

- Overt (severely increased) proteinuria (> 300 mg/day)

- > 150 mg/day but < 1.5 g/day

| Isolated proteinuria |
- No abnormalities in urinary sediment
- No decrease in glomerular filtration rate (GFR)
- No hypertension or diabetes

| Transient proteinuria
(< 1 g/day) |

| Orthostatic proteinuria
(Usually < 1 g/day) |
- Increased protein excretion in upright position
- Normal protein excretion in supine position
