  • Predominantly in liver
Alkaline phosphate 
  • Mainly in liver, bone, placenta
Gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT)
  • Main locations
    • Liver and biliary epithelial cells
    • Kidney
    • Seminal vesicles
    • Pancreas
    • Spleen
    • Heart
    • Brain
  • Conditions with isolated GGT elevation 
    • Alcoholism
    • Pancreatic disease
    • Renal failure
    • Medications
    • COPD
Hepatic function studies
